Ludia Talbot Obituary

Ludia (Haddad) Talbot, of Needham, passed away on December 8, 2019. She was 95 years old.

Ludia grew up in a Lebanese-Syrian community in the south cove in Boston - near Chinatown, and made many life long friends there.  She attended Girls High School and took many business courses, working for a variety of businesses until she married and started raising her children.  She later returned to work and her most recent job was at Sun Life -Canada.
She supplemented her income by taking in foreign exchange students at the American Language Academy at Babson College for 15 years.  She joined Parents Without Partners and made more life long friends, taking many vacations with them.  She met her loving companion "Monty" in her 80's and remained with him until this past year.

Ludia’s life was her family and life long friends.. She was generous and kind to all, sharing her love with anyone she met. Her enthusiasm for life was felt by anyone that met her.  For her family she fed us with Lebanese cuisine, specializing in kibbee and grapeleaves, as well as American dishes (her extended family always looked forward to her deviled eggs at all of the family gatherings).  Earlier in her life, she was an avid fan of the outdoors; she enjoyed canoeing, swimming, and water skiing during the warmer months, and snow skiing in the winter.  Throughout her life swimming and being at the beach continued to be her favorite past time.  She played the piano by ear, loved to dance, and was a true poet.  The world has truly lost a special soul on earth. We hope that her light will shine from above on all of us.

Ludia was the Loving mother of Carolyn Gallo and her husband Bob of NC, Joanne Hanley and her husband Walter of Waltham and Diane Talbot of Peabody.  Cherished Nana of Kari Gallo of CO and Derek Gallo and his wife Molly of NC. Dear sister of Henry Haddad and his wife Linda Gutowski Haddad of Arlington and the late Evelyn Haddad, Selma Elias, William Haddad and Namey Haddad.  Sister in law of Connie Haddad of West Roxbury.  Former wife of the late James Talbot.  True love of the late “Monty” Mantovani.  She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews..
