Madelyn (Ahto) Tawa, of West Roxbury, passed away on January 24, 2022. She exuded love for 93 years.
Madelyn was a longtime member of the Nicholas G. Beram Veterans Assoc. Ladies Auxiliary and the Virgin Mary Society at the Church of St. John of Damascus.
Madelyn was the dear and devoted wife of the late Joseph M. Tawa. Loving mother of Sandra Johnson and her husband Alan of Hyannis, Robert Tawa, Linda, Denise Destito and her husband Frank of Plymouth, and Andrea Venuti and her husband Philip of Marshfield. Cherished grandmother, “Tete,” of Amy Johnson, Ryan Johnson and his wife Andy, Joe Tawa and his wife Val, Andrew Tawa and his wife Denise, Nick Tawa, Gina Chalhub and her husband Jimmy, Anthony Destito, PJ Venuti and his wife Melanie, Michael Venuti, Bobby Venuti and the late Frank Johnson. Great-grandmother of Finn, Ryan, Reese, Rylee, Jake, Beth, Lucy, Mason, Xavier, Gabriel, Micah, Vinny and Luca.
Madelyn’s Funeral Service will be held Thursday, January 27, 2022, at 10 a.m. at the Church of St. John of Damascus, 300 West St. DEDHAM. Visitation in the Church beginning at 9 a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Due to Covid restrictions, masks must be worn in the Church.

Madelyn will be laid to rest with her beloved Joseph at Fairview Cemetery in Hyde Park.
