Paula Maria Hernandez

Paula Maria Hernandez of Brighton, MA passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 4, 2022.  She was 84 years old.  The beloved daughter of Gregorio (Goyo) Hernandez, Paula was born in Limonar, Matanzas, Cuba.  She arrived to the United States at the age of 28 never having worked prior.  Little did she imagine that all she would know was hard work, determination, and grit thereafter.  For Mercy, Jesse, and Nancy; she was not only mom she was also dad and their overall superhero. For all her friends, she was family.  There was always a place in her home and at her table for them.  Her stories and jokes were never scarce. You may have been slightly offended but in the kindest, most loved way and they could not have been too bad, because you definitely came back for more.  At 5 foot 2 inches, she was fierce. You were lucky to have her by your side.   

She is survived by daughters Mercedes Hernandez Medrano and Nancy Hernandez (Stephen Botelho) and her son Jesse Hernandez, her grandchildren Arianelle Diaz, Kerwyn Medrano, Kylie Medrano, Gregorio Botelho and Rachael Botelho and her great grandchild, Francis Medrano.  

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Paula’s visitation on Friday September 16, 2022, from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Kfoury Keefe Funeral Home 8 Spring Street West Roxbury, MA.  A private funeral service will be held at a later date.
