Richard W. Laham, Ret. BPD, of Estero, Florida, formerly of West Roxbury, passed away on August 13, 2020. He was 69 years old.
Richie was a dedicated Boston Police Office for over 30 years, most notably as the Community Service Officer at Area E-5 in his home neighborhood of West Roxbury. He served his beloved Parkway community in many ways over the years. He was a member of the Massachusetts Crime Prevention Officer Assoc., television host on Boston Neighborhood Network Area E, Parkway YMCA Board Member, BayState Area Hot Rods auto club, Roslindale Day Parade Board Member and longtime coach of the Parkway Little League White Sox.
Richie was the dear and devoted husband of Lynne (Anderer). Loving father of Nichole McCann and her husband Stephen of Norwood, Timothy Laham (Sgt. Det. BPD) and his wife Jennifer (McIrney) of West Roxbury, and Amy Laham of Attleboro. Loving Grandfather, “Jido” of Kallie, Billy, Kyle, Blake and Emma. Dear brother of Mary Shagoury and her husband Joseph of West Roxbury, Khalil “Charles” G. Laham of Westwood, and the late Emily Hurrell. Devoted cousin of Gregory H. Laham and his wife Deborah of Westwood. He is also survived by several loving nieces, nephews, family members and friends.
Due to COVID-19 restrictions, Richie's Funeral Mass will be private, but will be live-streamed on the "St. Theresa of Avila Parish, West Roxbury" YouTube channel Monday August 24 at 11:30 a.m. Visiting Hours will be held Sunday August 23 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Kfoury Keefe Funeral Home 8 Spring St. (at the corner of Centre St.) WEST ROXBURY. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, masks must be worn and visitors must observe social distancing and limit their time in the Funeral Home. Richie will be laid to rest in the St. James the Apostle section of St. Joseph Cemetery (V.F.W. Parkway gate) Monday at approximately 12:45 p.m.
