Robert L. “Bob” Arnold Jr. of Georgetown passed away on October 2, 2023 at the age of 69, following a long, courageous battle with Parkinson’s Disease.
Bob was the dear and devoted husband of Linda (Dearman) Arnold. Beloved father of Margaret “Maggie” Rodriguez and her husband John of Stoneham, Katherine “Kate” Even and her husband Matthew of Quincy. Loving grandfather “Baa” of Isobel, Emmelia, Olivia, and Henry.
Linda would like to share this tribute:
My darling taught me humility, acceptance, and patience to name a few virtues. He worked so hard as a nurse all his life with a genuine love for his patients and their families.
He loved me, he loved his daughters, he loved his four precious grandchildren, and his two sons-in-law..
He was a voracious reader, historian and author of two books. Gilbert and Sullivan were high on his list of delights. He was a guitar player, fiddle player and mastered the bagpipes, playing in a marching pipe band. A true New England sports fan. He loved taking his dog, Gordon, out for long walks and runs. He was a true Scot and introduced me and his daughters to the splendor and awe of this diverse, ruggedly beautiful country . We had so many wonderful journeys there as a couple and a family.
Rob was a man content asking very little from life and others. We are filled with grief and gratitude for God's mercy at the same time.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visiting hour Thursday October 5, 2023 at 10 a.m. at St. Mary Orthodox Church 8 Inman St. Cambridge, followed by the Funeral Service at 11 a.m. Interment will conclude the funeral services, at The Gardens Cemetery 670 Baker St. West Roxbury.
