Robert A. Kiessling, of West Roxbury passed away on July 17, 2023. He was 92 years old.
Born in 1930, Robert was a proud United States Navy Veteran of the Korean War. After his served his country, Robert served the City of Boston for 28 years as a firefighter. He could fix anything at all, from houses to automobiles. Busy work schedule didn’t keep him from his family as he was very involved with Parkway Youth Hockey and Boy Scouts Group 5 West Roxbury. Following his retirement, he volunteered for many years at the VA Hospital. He was happiest surrounded by his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and in past years loved riding his Harley Davidson with his beloved Joan.
Robert was the dear and devoted husband of the late Joan (Fox). Loving father of Elizabeth Donnell and her husband David of Bellingham, Robert Kiessling of West Roxbury, Joan Cunningham and her husband Joseph of Osterville and Kurt Kiessling and his wife Sheila of West Roxbury. Cherished grandfather of Colleen von Staats and her husband Nick, Allison Cunningham, Cameron Cunningham and his wife Samantha, Kimberly, Katherine and Michaela Kiessling. Dear great-grandfather of Olivia and Emma. Dear brother of the late Edward Kiessling. He is also survived by several loving nieces and nephews.
Robert’s Funeral Service will be held Friday, July 21, 2023 at 10 a.m. at the Kfoury Keefe Funeral Home, 8 Spring St. (at the corner of Centre St.) WEST ROXBURY. Visiting hours will be held Thursday 5-8 p.m. Relatives and friends respectfully invited to attend.

Robert will be laid to rest with his beloved Joan at Mt. Benedict Cemetery.
