Robert J. Murad, of Roslindale, formerly of Boston’s South Cove, passed away on February 2, 2020. He was 89 years old.
Born and raised in Boston’s South Cove, Bobby was a proud US Army Veteran of the Korean War. An avid sports fan, he played football while he was in the service. Bobby had a strong work ethic and was always the best at everything he did.
Above all else, Bobby's family was his life. He was very protective, loving and supportive and he worked extremely hard, sometimes 3 jobs, to provide for his family. He wanted the best for his children and was always there to lend a helping hand and to offer guidance and advice. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, including taking trips to Toys "R" Us, Disney, Cape Cod and Maine. Always the life of the party and the first on the dance floor, people would clear the floor to watch Bobby dance with his beloved, Frances. He loved music with his favorites being Elvis and Sinatra, Reba McEntire, traditional Irish music and some Arabic classics as well. He loved starting the day reading the newspaper and discussing politics and current events with his family. Bobby was a very traditional man with strong morals and values and respect was an important part of his life.
Bobby was the dear and devoted husband of Frances (Sharkey). Loving father of Christine Alexander of Arlington, Elaine Rosselle and her husband Michael of Dedham, Diane McDonough of Hyde Park and her late husband James, Robert Murad of Roslindale, Lynda Murad of Roslindale and Cynthia Hamilton and her husband Edmund of Roslindale. Cherished grandfather “Jidu” of Michael Francis Rosselle, Samantha Rosselle, PFC Thomas McDonough, Daniel McDonough and Thomas Robert Hamilton. Dear brother of James Murad of Hyde Park and Mary Mahanna of Boston’s South Cove and the late Joseph, Thomas and Frederick “Moe” Murad. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
