Rosemarie "Rosie" Nashawaty, of West Roxbury passed away on Good Friday, April 30, 2021 and the Brigham and Women's Faulkner Hospital. She was 80 years old.
Rosie was mostly a private person who loved her privacy, but could also be a very social, fun loving and talkative participant with friends and family. She was strong willed and enjoyed watching old movies from iconic actors, Yes Clark, Marilyn, and GONE WITH THE WIND, oh so many times!
She was extremely aware of so many distant family memories on beaches with her cousins, on her Uncle Mitchell’s boat, cousin Donald’s dinghy, the sleepovers at cottages down the cape and all the parties and holidays on a rotating schedule with aunts and uncles. Rosie had a great memory and remembered so many details about her family and friends, as well as the time she spent living in California and her move back home to Boston. She held on to so many thoughts and shared them in her last 30 days as if they were current events.
Rosie's Funeral Service will be held Monday, May 10, 2021 at 11 a.m. in the Church of St. John of Damascus, 300 West St. Dedham. A Visiting Hour will be held beginning at 10 a.m. at the Church. Loved Ones are invited to attend. St. John’s asks visitors to wear a mask and to maintain social distance from others while in the Church.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Rosie’s memory may be made to The Rosemarie Nashawaty Fund at Renaissance Charitable Foundation Inc. (renaissancecharitable.org).
Rosie will be laid to rest at Fairview Cemetery in Hyde Park.
