Suheil F. Elias, formerly Kas-Elias, of Westwood, formerly of West Roxbury, fell asleep in the lord, peacefully on April 21, 2023. He was 93 years old.
Suheil worked for 25 years at State Street Bank, retiring as a Vice President. Prior to his career in finance, Suheil briefly practiced law in his home country of Syria and taught math in the Golan Heights when it was a Syrian territory.
Suheil was a charming and honorable man. He was always smiling and happy, and was the ultimate host. He loved having friends and family come to visit his family at his home, often staying for extended periods of time. He loved to garden and had apple trees and pear trees and took great pride in the jams he made. He enjoyed playing bridge and was quick to challenge anyone he could in a game of ping pong. A true family man, he was happiest giving back to his family and being surrounded by their love.
Suheil was the dear and devoted husband of the late Salwa (Arour) Elias. Loving father of Reem Elias Ozone and her husband Danniel “Fady” of Foxborough and the late Frank Elias. Cherished grandfather, “Jido” of Tatiana and William Ozone. Dear brother of the late Abdo Elias, Mary Madano and George Elias. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
Suheil’s Funeral Service will be held Thursday, April 27, 2023 at 11 a.m. at St. Matthews Syriac Orthodox Church 149 Park St. WEST ROXBURY. Visiting hours will be held Wednesday, April 26, 2023 from 5-8 p.m. at the Kfoury Keefe Funeral Home 8 Spring St. (at the corner of Centre St.) WEST ROXBURY. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.
There will be no procession from the Funeral Home on Thursday morning. Please go directly to the Church.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Suheils memory may be made to the Church.
Suheil will be laid to rest with his beloved Salwa at The Gardens Cemetery on Baker St. in West Roxbury.
