William M. Rihbany, 88, of Braintree, formerly of Weymouth, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 29, 2020.
He was born on March 13, 1931 in Boston, MA, the son of The Reverend Athanasios and Delia Rihbany, and lived in Boston before moving to Mansfield in 1965 to raise his family, and then retiring in Braintree and Weymouth.
William proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force post World War II. He spent his career working in the printing business and as an entrepreneurial retailer and corporate coffee service business owner.
He was a member of St. George Orthodox Church in West Roxbury, and was a gifted athlete as a young man. He served later in life as a constable, and retired as a taxi driver.
He leaves two daughters, Theresa M. Bebis and her husband The Reverend Paul Bebis of Lancasater, MA and Pamela J. Nugent and her husband The Reverend Peter Nugent of Metairie, LA; and two sons, Ernest R. Khirallah and his wife, Kathleen Khirallah of Foster City, CA and Emil M. Rihbany of Charlotte, NC; and 5 grandchildren, Emma Nugent, Joshua Bebis, Aidan Nugent, Ava Rihbany, and Anthony Rihbany.
William is predeceased by 6 siblings, Martha Haddad, Emil Rihbany, Frederick Rihbany, Libby Abusheery, Victoria Cirone, and Margaret Curry.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit with William’s family from 9:30 to 10:30 AM at St. George Orthodox Church on Tuesday, February 4, at 55 Emmonsdale Rd, West Roxbury, MA.
A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, February 4, also at St. George Orthodox Church. Burial will follow in Mt. Hope Cemetery, 355 Walk Hill St., Boston, MA.
